Meet the contractors

The project team comprises Ymgynghoriaeth Gwynedd Consultancy (YGC), Griffiths and Arup.

YGC is responsible for flood risk management on behalf of Cyngor Gwynedd. YGC are responsible for the project management and delivery of this project for Cyngor Gwynedd.

Griffiths have been appointed as the projects Design and Build Contractor. They bring to the project expert knowledge on the practicalities of construction, supply chain, materials,
etc. at this stage and will go on to construct the coastal defences subject of approval of the final design by Welsh Government.

Griffiths will ensure the design submitted for funding is feasible to construct, avoiding delays in the programme and unexpected costs down the line.

Arup, who supported YGC prepare the Outline Business Case in the previous stage of the project, are Griffiths’ designer responsible for the design of the coastal defences, placemaking, Environmental Impact Assessment and Planning permission documentation.
